The great thing about Freewrite is that it lets you just write. I mean just click keys in some semblance of an order maybe only understandable to me. To get thoughts down without the constraints of form, spelling or even any chronological order for plot or coherence. Just to write thoughts and store them in a place to maybe deal with later in some editing program. Freewrite does not pressure me into getting it perfect or even correct. I can with one button send everything I have to a text file emailed to me for a later look or completion. It is also handy to type all my handwritten stuff from 45 years of creativity to compile for printing or adding to in a digital format for saving and easier distribution. Thank you. Cheers!
Do I think this is necessary? No. However, I have loved this notebook so far. I've used the discbound system in the past and returning to it feels very nice. Adding and removing pages is easy. Designing my own pages and then slipping them in will be no issue, once I get the hole punch. Lastly, I like the premium leather that's used for the cover. I know that this will last and survive being carried everywhere, with the Freewrite emblem as a nice touch. I look forward to customizing this notebook with bigger rings as my projects change and evolve.
I love this product. The only downside I can think of is that tapping the keys is a bit loud.
Iβve been using this machine almost nonstop since I got it. I sit on my patio and thereβs direct sunlight and I can see every little thing. I am enjoying working with the ps plus subscription so that I can move my documents back-and-forth a little bit. Iβm loving just how much I can write with abandon and remember not to edit. Itβs definitely promoting the flow states I was hoping for..
Loving my Traveler. Ease of use, comfortable typing experience and portability is top notch.
i love this product so much and itβs only day one
Ease of use a plus and learning the key funtions was simple, a bit expensive, but overall I have loved it.π
I have used Levengerβs Circa system almost since the beginning and have disks in various sizes and materials, paper in all sizes and directionality (I really miss the Rhodia partnership), and at least a half a dozen covers.
So I did not need a Freewrite cover. Doesn't mean I didn't buy one and put it to use. I just didn't need one :)
Working on novel about family history and its redemption.
Love the 100K pin! Such a sense of accomplishment! Thanks Freewrite!
I love this gadget. It is so simple. A keyboard that sends your words into the cloud. As a child I used to journal and write and attend All the young writers conferences. As I got older I became blocked. This little device has allowed me to find the freedom to write again. I can't express how much I love it. I use it everyday. I have had the thing for about 2 weeks and have written about a thousand words a day easily, not counting three scripts, and five full outline drafts. It is kind of been a magic device for me. It is so simple and easy to use. It looks cool. It feels cool. It works great. Thank you Astrohaus for a fantastic product.
I love writing regardless of tool, but this device has rekindled my overwhelming NEED to write. I absolutely love using this smart typewriter, and so every day I look forward to the process with newfound energy.
This was a birthday gift for my mother and the setup was easy! She's excited to get back to writing!
Craftsmanship is very nice. AttachΓ© is crisp, keys are clicking well, only thing is space bar βsticksβ but it works if you press it. Good purchase and fun to use. Excited to write again.
I havenβt had this device long but so far it has exceeded my expectations. I am enjoying the physicality of using the keyboard which Iβm finding more satisfying than my familiar computer keyboard. So far I havenβt encountered any glitches and everything has worked flawlessly. I donβt expect it to make me a famous author but for my modest uses I expect to have plenty of fun using it.
I own the Freewrite original typewriter and the Traveler. Love them both, especially the Traveler. So I wasn't sure about purchasing the Alpha, I thought it might be a lot like the Traveler. But no, it's very different and has found its place in my writing routine. The LCD screen with backlight mean the device can be used in dim light (I sometimes write late in the evening sitting in bed). Very handy. The device feels very light and is instantly on, no loading time. I do love the e-ink devices but this one is a great addition to the Freewrite range. I find it ultra portable and ideal for writing sessions away from home. It fits in my smallest backpack, is very ergonomic and barely needs charging as the battery lasts forever. It's now my favourite to take to the local library and on day trips for writing workshops and such.
It has been so helpful to have a tool like this to write without distraction or interruption. The keyboard is smooth functioning and everyone is always asking about it. Thanks for making such a great product!
A heavy pin, looks great on my Alpha case. A solid reminder of my first 100k.
I rarely have been so motivated to write something about a product as I am with the Freewrite signature edition. Since purchasing this in May, I have finished a book of poetry about post-war reintegration and healing after combat-disabling injuries. I am 20k words into my first novel, drafted entirely on the Hemingwrite. It's centered around Hemingway's lasting legend. I have been drafting since May 10th and I'm at Chapter 7. I can't wait to get this to an agent. The Freewrite has been instrumental to my ability to get 3k words a day. Truly, I am grateful. Respectfully, H.D. Frost
