The smart typewriter immediately inspired me to get plot ideas out of my head and onto “paper”. Originally, I was having trouble getting started on my writing. Opening a word document felt like work and worrying about formatting was a huge distraction. The smart typewriter changed this. Using it as a tool to flow write was exactly what I needed to get started. The typewriter is well built and as described. It has made the creative process extremely fun. I am very happy with my purchase.

Good but could be better
It’s good for writing straight from your head. However there is no edit button or feature. Would be great to be able to go back without having to delete already written pieces.

The look and feel of this typewriter are weirdly satisfying- it has a retro future aesthetic that I immediately loved. The keys feel fantastic, and it just makes you want to write. Love it!!

I love it.
It’s simplicity is magic. I am writing again and that makes me happy.

First Draft to Final Draft
Had been eyeing the Freewrite Typewriter for awhile and finally jumped in during the Black Friday sale. Had a feeling it would be fun to use in general, and it surely is, but didn't realize quite how well it would work for screenwriting. Typing in the simple Fountain format, it easily saves as a Final Draft document, allowing me to clean it up later in Final Draft or Highland 2. Been fantastic for getting the first draft of scenes done.
